Charge to the Rector Search Committee

The Search Committee of St. Matthew’s is charged with the following tasks:

  1. Build community and set the stage for our process going forward. 

  2. Conduct multiple listening sessions to determine what our parish is seeking in a new rector. 

  3. Prepare the official Office of Transitional Ministry (OTM) profile and post online through Diocesan office. 

  4. Review and prioritize applications received. 

  5. Conduct Zoom interviews with interesting candidates. 

  6. Narrow list of candidates to 2-4 individuals to invite for on-campus interviews. 

  7. Prepare budget with treasurer and Vestry for visit expenses. 

  8. Host two-four weekend interview sessions. 

  9. Narrow choices to a single candidate to present to Vestry for approval. 

  10. Clear candidate with the Bishop. 

  11. Extend offer to candidate. 

  12. Coordinate with hospitality committee to welcome the new Rector.
