St. Matthew’s - Certified Bird Friendly!

Thanks to the leadership Sharon Billings, St. Matthews is now an official bird friendly habitat under construction! This would be a nice addition to our Wildlife Habitat certification.

Sharon arranged for a team from New Hope Audubon to perform a certification visit. A report from this visit is attached.

Over the course of the next year, the Churchyard Guild will be working on removal of invasive plant species and planting suggested trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers per the reports suggestions. Anyone interested in working with our group is welcome! Just contact Sharon Billings or Susan Shelton.

An interesting history of our Churchyard and plantings is also available. As you will see, some of the original trees planted are still standing!
