Let’s start a conversation about mental health. At Church | June 12 and 19, 6:30pm.
The Santuary Course: Pilot Session June 12 and 19, 6:30-8:00 pm.
St. Matthews will be offering a course to educate our understanding of mental health, exploring important concepts from three perspectives: the psychological, the social, and the theological. We will learn about various experiences of mental illness, consider the impact of stigma, explore the process of recovery, discover the importance of companionship, reflect on the experience of caregiving, and examine self-care practices. While this is not a support group, those with lived experience are especially welcome.
The Sanctuary Course equips churches seeking to become sanctuaries where people with mental health challenges feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging. Pilot sessions will be June 12th and 19th at 6:30pm in the Cooke-Lawrence room.
