Holy Week 2025: Come, let us worship!
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Each year in Holy Week time stops and circles back to its center. What happened 2,000 years ago in Jesus’ death and resurrection becomes, for one week, the center of our lives, the life-stopping reality now. We step aside from our usual busyness and concerns to give ourselves over — heart, soul, mind and strength — to the story of Jesus’ Passion. We soak in his words from the Cross. We hear the startled witness of the women disciples who first bore the news of resurrection.
From the first centuries of Christianity, the Church has celebrated special services in Holy Week to draw us into these realities. And these ancient services, going back centuries, are marvelously offered to us in our Book of Common Prayer. They make an experiential bridge between our lives now and the mystery of God’s love and death and resurrection.
Regard this week as a special week, indeed a holy week, for you to deepen your Christian faith, hope, and love by attending these services, and engaging the core mysteries and realities of our faith.
God Bless,
Robert+
