Remembering Lisbon Payne Berry, May 2, 4:00pm

Please join us as we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Lisbon Payne Berry, son of the Rev. Job Berry, founder of Dickerson Chapel AME.   Lisbon was an education missionary for the Presbyterian Church, establishing Black schools in North Carolina, Alabama, andTennessee. He was in touch with various rectors at St. Matthew’s and arranged at least one wedding there. He was admitted to the bar in 1882 and became Orange County’s first Black lawyer.
