Newcomers Classes and Events
Becoming part of a church is exciting, sometimes challenging, and takes some discernment. St. Matthew’s is eager to welcome everyone to share in its parish life and to contribute their gifts and talents. The Newcomer Classes and Socials provide an occasion to learn about the Episcopal Church, The Christian Faith, St. Matthew’s. We also explore how the parish is currently organized, what its mission is, and how one can be a part of that.

Newcomers’ Classes 2023
The Newcomers Class 2023 had two components.
First, the classes began in Sunday Forums shared with the whole parish, Sept 17 and Sept 24, 9:15 in the Parish Hall and on Zoom. This year, these classes explored the meaning of the Eucharist, and through that we touched on core Christian theology and practices.
Secondly, we held special newcomer seminars over 3 evenings in October, Wednesday October 11, 18, and 25. These explored our parish history and its relevance today, the history and meaning of being Anglican and Episcopalian, and how St. Matthew’s is organized.
Recordings of all five sessions are found below.
