Walking with Dr. King in Orange and Durham Counties, Dec 8 - 9:15am
Reflections on Advent, Social Justice, and our Shared Local History
The St. Matthew's Racial Reconciliation Committee, Bicentennial Committee, and Justice United Chapter invite you to join us on December 8th at 9:15am in our Fellowship Hall for a special conversation with the Honorable Horace Johnson, Sr., the first African American Mayor of Hillsborough, iconic Civil Rights leader, and contemporary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
A Hillsborough native, Mr. Johnson continues to serve as a critical voice and example in our ongoing struggle for social justice and racial reconciliation locally and nationally. He will share his experiences and reflections on our local history, his time with Dr. King in Orange and Durham Counties, and his lessons for our present-day community and its efforts for the promise of racial reconciliation and harmony.
