Small Group Pilgrimage: Doing the Inner Work for Racial Justice and Reconciliation
Why not begin the new year with a life-shifting, soul-expanding journey alongside other curious travelers? Join us for an experience designed to deepen our understanding, challenge us, and create meaningful connections with fellow pilgrims.
St. Matthew’s Racial Justice and Reconciliation Committee is sponsoring a spiritual pilgrimage to Montgomery, Alabama, February 18–21, 2027, centered on visits to the Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Sites, including the museum and memorial. Our journey will also take us to Selma and the Jonathan Daniels and the Martyrs of Alabama Memorial—places that will help us explore the history, courage, faith, and sacrifice of the Civil Rights Movement.
This will be an intentionally small group, limited to 10 participants, allowing time for conversation, reflection, and connection. We will travel together by passenger van and stay at the SpringHill Suites in downtown Montgomery. In preparation for the pilgrimage, participants will begin a shared curriculum during the first full week of January and gather twice as a group before we embark.

Dates: February 18–21, 2027
Cost: Final cost will be determined in early 2027, but will not exceed $700 per person
Deposit: $100
Registration deadline: November 22, or when all 10 spaces are filled, whichever comes first
