Three Nights on Jane Austen

For three weeks, St. Matthew’s will explore famed author Jane Austen, her works, her life, and how she manifested aspects of Anglicanism in her novels and short stories. You are welcome to attend any of the sessions as they will be stand alone.

The first session will explore how Jane Austen’s life and works reflected Anglicanism in the Regency era. The second session will focus on Colonialism in the Regency era and will include a showing of Mansfield Park. The final session will explore the Sacrament of Matrimony and love in her novels.

Adults and children are invited . You are welcome to bring your favorite tea party treat to share (maybe even make a recipe from any number of Jane Austen themed cookbooks). Some tea party favorites will be provided for each session.

The Jane Austen and Anglicanism Seminar Series will take place on Wednesday July 24 and 31 and August 7 from 6pm to 8pm in the Parish Hall.
