Lay Eucharistic Minister Training Aug 6, 9am
Sunday, August 6th at 9:00 am
Ever looked at the people “up front” during worship and thought to yourself, “Oooo, I’d like to do that!”? Well, now’s your chance to join the altar party! St. Matthew’s is looking for people to serve as as Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs) for the 8 am and 10:30 am services and other special occasions. LEM duties vary slightly depending on the service, but people serving in this role generally lead the Prayers of the People and assist the priest(s) in serving communion. It’s a wonderful way to get a glimpse “behind the scenes” of the service while playing a key liturgical role. And many find that serving as a LEM enriches their experience of worship and deepens their connection to God and their fellow worshipers.
If this sounds appealing to you then please join the current LEMs for a training session on August 6th at 9:00 am in the church. All current LEMs should also plan to attend. Robert+ will offer training for “LEMing” at both the 8 am and 10:30 am Sunday services. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Sonja Tilley.
