Deacon Kate away at Doctorate Summer Residency

From June 14 through July 3, 2026, Kate will be in Alexandria, Virginia, at Virginia Theological Seminary. In her third summer of the Doctor of Educational Ministry Program in Christian Spirituality, Kate will be taking three weeks of intense coursework in Teaching Sacred Texts, Interpretation and Contemplation in Christian Spirituality, and Theological Anthropology. She will also be receiving feedback on her Project Thesis Proposal, the core makeup of her dissertation. Kate gives thanks to the parish for this sanctioned time to devote to academic studies and to Will Lee for being available to serve as Deacon for St. Matthew’s this month.

O Eternal God, bless all schools, colleges, and universities and especially Virginia Theological Seminary, that they may be lively centers for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and grant that those who teach and those who learn may find
you to be the source of all truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP p824).
