BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION 2024: Celebrating the Lay Organization of the Parish in 1824
This fall we will celebrate the bicentennial of the lay organization of St. Matthew’s as a parish in the Episcopal Church. The central event for this is our Bicentennial Celebration on Sunday September 22nd. The Bishop will be present and preach, and the lay people of Saint Matthew’s will sign a new ‘charter,’ organizing St. Matthew’s for another 200 years! At the Eucharist we will be singing the new composition of music for the Eucharist by David Arcus. Following the Eucharist we will enjoy a parish lunch organized by Parish Life. It will be a banner day, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of us. A Bicentennial Book, long in the works, will also be released on that day!
