A Note of Gratitude and Transition: Dr. Jason A. Wright

On Sunday, April 12, St. Matthew’s will mark the conclusion of Dr. Jason A. Wright’s ministry as Director of Music.

For the past 5 years, Jason has offered faithful, creative, and deeply prayerful leadership to our music program. Through weekly worship, feast days, Choral Evensong and other alternative Sunday afternoon liturgies, involvement with the Faith and Arts series, and countless rehearsals, he has helped shape the sound and spirit of our common prayer. His leadership of the Parish and Junior Choirs, with singers of all ages, has strengthened our musical life and deepened our worship.

Under his direction, the music ministry has reflected both excellence and devotion, honoring the Anglican choral tradition while inviting the congregation to sing with confidence and joy. The organ voluntaries, service music & hymn leadership, choral anthems, and special liturgies have all borne the marks of careful preparation and theological depth.

Jason’s final Sunday with us will be April 12 (Low Sunday). We will give thanks for his ministry during worship that morning and offer prayers for him as he concludes this chapter of service at St. Matthew’s.

Transitions in parish life are sacred moments. While we will miss Jason’s presence at the console and in the choir room, we trust that God continues to guide both him and this parish into the next season of ministry.

We invite you to join us on Sunday, April 12, at the 10:30am service, as we give thanks for Dr. Wright’s faithful service and pray God’s blessing upon him in the years ahead.
