Welcome Natalie Rushing, Duke Ministerial Summer Intern!
Natalie joins the parish this Sunday, May 25, to begin her 10-week internship at St. Matthew’s. Already, we are envisioning a book group, a seminar on the Book of Common Prayer, and other events to enrich our parish during the summertime.
Natalie Rushing was born and raised an Anglo-Irish Episcopalian in New Orleans, Louisiana. She moved to Durham from Huntsville, AL in 2023 to begin her studies at Duke where she is currently a 2nd year MDiv student in the Anglican Episcopal House. In her previous parish Church of the Nativity, she was blessed to serve in multiple ways, from Acolyte to Altar Guild, Usher and Vestry, and a few things there in between. But it would be during a year-long pilgrimage to Ireland in 2019, that she felt a strong call to ordained ministry.
Regarding her time at St. Matthew’s: “I look forward to getting to know each of you and feel blessed to call St. Matthew's my new Church home. Thank you for the opportunity to serve in your beautiful church.”
