Search Committee Chair Named
The Vestry is delighted to announce that parishioner Ran Hamner will chair the Rector Search Committee. Our Senior & Junior Wardens, Rebecca Gallegly and Charles McCamy, presented his nomination to the Vestry at the August meeting, and the vote to appoint him was unanimous.
Ran was selected because of his leadership skills and deep connections to the wider community. He is an efficient and enthusiastic worker and a great communicator who is well respected by all. He currently represents St. Matthew’s in Justice United, Reentry House, and has been a key figure in working with the county to have the parish designated a Cold Weather Shelter (which you will hear more about soon).
When asked why he would make a good search committee chair, Ran noted his extensive experience leading small and large groups in both church settings (vestries, committees, and ministries) and business settings (general manager, president, and CEO). “I have learned that a quality process yields as quality answer.” He also has a great sense of humor, a deep faith, and looks forward to employing his God-given gifts to lead the effort to find our next rector.
Please join us in congratulating Ran. You will be hearing from him soon about how you can engage in the search process. So stay tuned - there’s more to come!
- Rebecca Gallegly, Sr. Warden
