Support a proposal for at least $62,000 for home repairs from County funds.

Why is Funding Home Repairs Important?

From the Orange County Housing Preservation (Repairs) Coalition's most recent report:

- Lack of home repairs funding disproportionately affects community members who are African-American and/or have extremely low incomes. It is a racial and economic justice issue.
- "The racial composition of clients seeking services from the OCHPC is not representative of the general Orange County population, highlighting racial disparity in home repair and weatherization needs. The disproportionately large number of African-American people seeking home repair services through OCHPC is expected given the legacy of racism in the housing sector."
- "Over 75% of homeowners supported or served by the Coalition were considered extremely low (<30% AMI) or very low (30-59% AMI) income. This matches the income standards set by the funding sources used by Coalition partners and reflects the high demand for home repairs among low-income households."
