Mission Grant Awarded for Heaven Practice Housing!

We are delighted to receive word from the diocese that a Mission Endowment Grant has been awarded to support efforts towards a dream of Heaven Practice Housing through a potential partnership with Habitat. This grant application was written through the generous efforts of Charlie and Martha McCamy, the Rev. Liz Dowling Sendor and Julia Sendor, director of Justice United. Our conversations with Habitat are still ongoing but we hope eventually to be able to have a designated number of homes that are fair and affordable for those who might not otherwise qualify at the high median income range required in Orange County. The diocesan grant is a matching funds grant. If you would like to make a contribution towards this, checks can be made to St. Matthew’s and in the memo labeled HFH or Habitat Custodial. We’ll also be looking at other ways to meet the matching challenge- all part of our ongoing effort to practice Heaven and build Beloved Community now.
