Sunday, August 23, at the 10 am service with picnic to follow at New Hope Camp and Conference Center starting at noon.

St. Matthew’s is delighted to welcome the Rev. Tony Neal of Hester Grove Missionary Baptist Church to the pulpit! Please come and join our service and offer a warm welcome.

Our Heaven Practice Congregations continue the August tradtion of a Sunday morning pulpit swap and picnic. Clergy will travel to different churches to preach; congregations will welcome guest preacher to their services. This year, St. Matthew’s will be welcoming Rev. Tertius (Tony) Neal from Hester Grove Missionary Baptist church. While Rev. Neal will preach at the 10 am service at St. Matthew’s, our new rector, Rev. Mawethu Ncaca, will be  preaching at Piney Grove.  All will be followed by a giant community picnic at New Hope Camp and Conference Center, 4805 NC-86, Chapel Hill, NC, 27415, beginning around noon and following since churches begin and end their services at different times.
