Heaven Practice Pulpit Swap: Aug. 23

Sunday, August 23, at the 10 am service with picnic to follow at New Hope Camp and Conference Center starting at noon.

Our Heaven Practice Congregations continue the August tradition of a Sunday morning pulpit swap and picnic.

This year, St. Matthew’s will be welcoming Rev. Tertius (Tony) Neal as preacher from Hester Grove Missionary Baptist church. We’ll also be welcoming the Rev. Stephanie Yancy as celebrant. Please come and join our service and offer a warm welcome to them both. Meanwhile, our new rector, the Rev. Mawethu Ncaca, will be  preaching at Piney Grove. 

Following worship, all churches will gather for a giant community picnic at New Hope Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center,4805 NC-86, Chapel Hill, NC, 27415, beginning at noon.

St. Matthew’s will be providing cupcakes and cookies for dessert. If you can contribute, please email Yvonne Petitmaire, y.petitmaire@snet.net. Sweets & confections can be brought directly to the picnic or to church before the 10 am service that day.
