Farewell and Godspeed to Katie Bracy

Many of you may have noticed that Katie has been “light on the ground” of late. That’s because she’s begun a new job as Youth Minister at Holy Family in Chapel Hill and so she and John have settled in there. She will be dedicating a portion of her work there to an “internship,” a part of her continuing process towards ordination to the priesthood. She’ll have opportunity to preach and to learn alongside Rev. Javier Almendárez-Bautista, the rector, and she’s looking forward to that experience.

As she writes, “This job feels like a huge answer to prayer because it allows me to take on meaningful ministry and program leadership as a way to prepare for ordination. The Youth Minister position is only 10 hours per week, so it feels like a wonderful place to learn and develop for my future ministry while allowing me to continue working my day job at Duke.”

Katie and John’s participation at St. Matthew’s has been a wonderful gift and of course we will continue to support Katie with our prayers and connection as her sponsoring parish for ordination.
