A Discussion about AI
Curious about what the Church and our Anglo-Catholic Tradition has to say about AI? Heard the buzz about Pope Leo's recent encycical Magnificas Humanitas (Magnificient Humanity)? Looking for a word of hope and courage in a confusing world? Join us from 11:30 am-12:30 pm every Sunday in June in the Education Building to discuss together the new Papal Bull that addresses both the dangers and concerns as well as the hope and possibility that the development and deployment of AI offers our species. Bring a lunch or snack from coffee hour, and join us for a weekly discussion where we will review, digest, and discern together what Leo's message to all people of good will might hold for us. Chris Reed will lead the discussion on the following schedule: June 7 at 11:30-1 Introduction, Chapter 1 (a well-written history of Catholic Social Doctrine and Ethics which can just be skimmed), and Chapter 2; June 14 at 11:30 to 12:30: Chapter 3; June 21 at 11:30-12:30: Chapter 4; and June 28 at 11:30-12:30: Chapter 5.
